2026 Fall & Holiday Mini Sessions in Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra & St. Augustine
Fall is one of my favorite times of year to photograph families in Northeast Florida. The temperatures finally start to cool down, the evening light gets softer, and holiday cards suddenly start making their way onto everyone's to-do lists.
For 2026, I’m keeping my Fall and holiday mini session schedule intentionally limited, with just a handful of dates and locations throughout Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra, Nocatee and St. Augustine.
Each location offers something a little different, whether you want the charm of Historic St. Augustine, a natural Florida setting, the beach, or something a little more festive for Christmas.
2026 Fall & Holiday Mini Session Locations
Rather than offering the same setup every weekend throughout the Fall, I choose a small number of locations that give families a variety of looks.
This year's mini session lineup includes options in and around:
Historic St. Augustine
Nocatee and Ponte Vedra
Guana Preserve
Northeast Florida beaches
Limited-edition holiday sessions
Some sessions are designed simply for updated Fall family photographs, while others have more of a holiday feel. That means you can choose something that actually fits your family rather than feeling like every holiday photo needs to look the same.
Historic St. Augustine Mini Sessions
If you want something completely different from the beach, Historic St. Augustine is one of my favorite options.
The cobblestone streets, historic architecture, greenery and tucked-away corners give us so much variety in a relatively small area. These sessions have a little more time built in than my traditional mini sessions so we can move around and create several different looks.
They're especially beautiful if you want photographs that feel festive enough for a holiday card without using an actual Christmas setup.
Intracoastal Florida Fall Sessions
One of the things I love most about photographing families here is that Fall doesn't have to mean orange leaves and sweaters.
Locations around Ponte Vedra, Nocatee and Jacksonville give us beautiful natural Florida scenery with tall grasses, trees, water and warm evening light.
These sessions are perfect if you want updated family photographs that can work for your holiday cards but still feel like your family and your life here in Florida.
Beach Dune Mini Sessions
Of course, we're in Northeast Florida, so the beach deserves a place in the Fall lineup too.
Fall is actually one of my favorite seasons for beach family photos. Temperatures become more comfortable, summer crowds begin to disappear, and the softer Fall light is beautiful along the coast.
Beach minis are a great option for families who want photographs that feel relaxed, playful and distinctly Florida.
St Augustine Fort Mini Sessions
The Castillo de San Marcos and surrounding grounds offer one of the most recognizable settings in St. Augustine, with historic stone, open green space, waterfront views, and beautiful morning light.
These limited mini sessions are perfect for families who want updated family photos in a setting that feels distinctly St. Augustine while keeping the session quick and easy. The open grounds give us room for kids to move and families to interact while incorporating the historic architecture, greenery, and waterfront surroundings into your photos.
Because these are short sessions, we’ll stay within a relatively small area rather than walking through the historic district. This allows us to make the most of our time together while still creating a mix of gently guided family portraits and more natural, connected moments.
What Is Included in a Mini Session?
Most of my traditional Fall mini sessions are approximately 15 minutes and include a set number of hand-edited digital images that you choose from a proofing gallery.
You'll also have the option to purchase additional photographs or upgrade to the full gallery after seeing your images.
Certain specialty locations, including Historic St. Augustine, may have different session lengths, pricing and image collections because we need additional time to make the most of the location.
Full details for each date are provided on the booking page before you reserve your session.
Is a Mini Session Right for Your Family?
Mini sessions work especially well for families who want a small collection of updated photographs, have children who warm up relatively quickly, and are comfortable working within a shorter timeframe.
They're also perfect when your main goal is getting a beautiful family photograph for your holiday card along with a few more natural images of everyone together.
If you have very young children who may need more time, want a larger variety of images, have a specific location in mind, or simply don't want to feel rushed, one of my private family sessions may be a better fit.
My Classic and Signature sessions give us more time to let children explore, take breaks and allow those unscripted moments to happen naturally. Not sure what the difference is between a mini and a full session? Click here to learn more.
What Should We Wear?
Once you book, I'll send guidance to help you plan what everyone will wear.
Rather than matching, I recommend coordinating colors and choosing pieces that work well together. Neutrals, earthy colors, soft blues, creams and warm tones photograph beautifully at many of my outdoor locations.
You don't necessarily need to dress in traditional Christmas colors just because you're using the photographs for holiday cards. Choose clothing that feels like your family and complements the location you've selected. For example, the session below was captured at sunrise at the intracoastal. Going with bright tropical colors works equally as well. It is all about your family’s overall vibe and style.

Tips for a Successful Mini Session
Because mini sessions are scheduled back-to-back, arriving early is especially important. Plan to be parked, dressed and completely ready before your scheduled start time.
Don't worry about telling your children to smile or behave perfectly before you arrive. I'll guide you throughout the session and keep things moving.
We'll get the photographs of everyone looking at the camera, but we'll also leave room for playing, movement, snuggling and the little interactions that make your family yours.
Fifteen minutes goes surprisingly quickly—and with the right preparation, we can create a lot in that time.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long are Fall mini sessions?
Most traditional mini sessions are approximately 15 minutes. Specialty sessions may be longer depending on the location and type of session.
How many photographs are included?
The number of included images varies by mini session. You'll receive a proofing gallery and choose your included photographs, with the option to purchase additional images or upgrade your gallery.
Can I bring my dog?
For many outdoor locations, absolutely. I recommend bringing another adult who can hold your dog when they're not being photographed so we can easily move between photographs with and without your pet.
Can extended families book a mini session?
Mini sessions are designed for individual families and aren't long enough for extended-family groupings. If you're hoping to include grandparents, multiple households or several different family combinations, an extended family session will be a much better fit.
What happens if it rains?
Florida Fall weather can be unpredictable, so I monitor the forecast closely. If weather makes it impossible to photograph your session safely, I'll communicate the rain plan and any available rescheduling options.
When should I book?
As soon as you know which date you want. I only offer a limited number of mini sessions each Fall and don't continuously add dates once sessions fill.
