Hi! I Am Teresa Geraghty

Before photography became my full-time work, I spent 15 years as a high school English teacher, where storytelling was always at the center of what I did. After my first daughter was born, I picked up my camera with a new purpose. My goal was to preserve the fleeting, everyday moments that were passing by too quickly.

I started my photography business 13 years ago while still teaching, driven by a desire to create images that help families remember what this season felt like, not just how it looked.

As a Jacksonville family and newborn photographer, I photograph families and newborns in a relaxed, gently guided way that leaves room for real connection, movement, and the in-between moments that matter most.

When you look back on your images, I want you to remember the closeness, the love, and the way your family fit together right then.

The heart Behind my work

As a mother to two girls, I know firsthand how quickly these seasons move. One day you’re rocking a newborn, and the next you’re watching them walk into school with backpacks bigger than they are. Becoming a mom deepened my understanding of just how meaningful photographs can be — not as perfect displays, but as reminders of the love, closeness, and everyday moments that make up your life.

I photograph families the way I hope to remember my own: with honesty, softness, and a focus on connection. The quiet snuggles. The belly laughs. The way your child fits perfectly in your arms right now. These are the moments I want you to be able to return to.

WHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK WITH ME

Working with me feels calm, easy, and intentionally unhurried.

From the moment you reach out, my goal is to make the entire experience feel simple and supported. You don’t need to know how to pose. Your children don’t need to behave perfectly. And you don’t need to arrive with a plan.

I’ll guide you through it.

During your session, I follow your children’s lead and allow space for breaks if they need them. I offer gentle direction along the way, but I’m mostly paying attention to how your family naturally interacts. The best moments tend to happen in between — when you’re talking, laughing, or simply standing close together.

Most parents tell me they’re surprised by how relaxed it feels.

I’m patient and attentive to what each family needs in the moment. Sometimes that means slowing things down. Sometimes it means shifting direction or offering a little extra encouragement. My personality is calm and steady, and that energy carries into every session.

You’ll still walk away with a few classic portraits — the kind grandparents love — but the heart of your gallery will be the connection between you. The way your child leans into you. The quick laughs. The quiet moments that might otherwise go unnoticed.

More than anything, I want your photos to feel honest and true to this season of life.
