Why I Love the in Home Newborn Lifestyle Session | Malverne Newborn Photographer

Many times when clients first contact me about photographing their new baby, they are uncertain whether they want to book a studio session or an in home session. I offer both options and I love both types of sessions for different reasons.  

The in home session is the most natural of all of the newborn sessions I offer.  It takes place in your home and because every client's home is unique, the images will encapsulate their individual style and personality. When lighting allows, I try to incorporate the master bedroom, living room, and even the nursery for the photos of your baby. As moms, we work hard to create a beautiful home for our family and homes make the most unique and beautiful backdrops for newborn images.    

The most notable difference between the sessions is the fact that I come to you and photograph you in the comfort of your own home. This is especially important for parents who have toddlers, who sometimes need to nap or are more at ease in their own home.  While both sessions focus on capturing images of you and your baby naturally, the in home session provides me the opportunity to capture all of the in between moments that happen, which often become my favorite photos from the session.  

I spent the morning last week with this family who welcomed baby number two. I met mom a few weeks ago when I photographed her during a beach maternity session, so I was excited to meet the new baby! Their home is a gorgeous with so much character and personality.  We spent a large part of the session in the master bedroom because it had tons of natural light flowing in from a huge window and the images in front of it are amongst my favorite from the session. 

I had a blast with the big brother, who is not only adorable, but has such a warm and friendly personality. I can tell he is going to be a great big brother because all he wanted to do was kiss his baby brother.
