Family Photos During Your St. Augustine or Ponte Vedra Vacation
Because the best photos of your family happen when everyone is actually together, relaxed, and somewhere beautiful.
Most families don't think to book a photographer until they're already home, scrolling through blurry phone photos, wishing they had something better to show for the trip. If you're here before that happens, you're already ahead.
Booking a photographer when you're visiting from out of town feels like a leap of faith. You don't know the area, you don't know me, and you're already managing a lot of moving pieces. I want this page to give you enough to feel genuinely confident — not just about the photos, but about the whole experience of working with someone new in an unfamiliar place.
I've been photographing families in Northeast Florida for over a year and a half, and many of my clients are exactly where you are right now — coming from Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, or further, with kids in tow and a few precious days to make the most of. I know these beaches, these locations, and this light better than anyone, and I will take care of every detail so you don't have to think about anything except showing up.
A vacation is the Perfect Time for Family Photos
There’s something about being away from home that shifts everything just a little.
The pace slows down. You’re not rushing from one thing to the next, and your kids have the space to just be themselves. You’re more present, more connected, and noticing the small moments you might otherwise miss.
That’s what makes these St Augustine vacation photo sessions feel easy, and why the photos tend to reflect not just how this time looked, but how it actually felt.
This is what a St Augustine Vacation Photo Session Feels Like
Meet Teresa
St Augustine Vacation Family Photographer
A few things that might help you feel more confident booking from a distance:
I have been photographing families for over 13 years, and I take the responsibility of documenting something this important seriously. Every client receives a detailed planning guide before their session, clear communication from the moment they book, and a photographer who shows up prepared, on time, and genuinely invested in making the experience feel easy for everyone involved, including the kids.
You can read what past clients have said on Google, browse full session galleries on this site, and reach out with any questions before you commit to anything. There is no pressure and no obligation to inquire, and I am always happy to jump on a quick call if that helps you feel more settled about moving forward.
Most families who have booked with me from out of town tell me afterward that the hardest part was just deciding to do it — and that once they did, everything else fell into place easily.

Why Vacation photos are Different
There is something about being away from home that makes families more themselves. The to-do lists are gone, the routines are gone, and everyone is just together in a way that doesn't happen often enough. That is exactly when the photos worth keeping tend to happen.
These aren't just pretty pictures on a beach. They're a record of your family during one of the few times a year you were all fully present in the same place at the same time. Most families tell me afterward that it was one of the best decisions they made during the trip — and that they only wish they had booked it sooner.
The Vacation passes quickly, but the Photos Last forever

— Michael and Nikki A. Beautiful Locations for Family Photos
Northeast Florida has some of the most beautiful and varied settings for family photos anywhere on the East Coast, and choosing the right one makes a real difference in how your gallery feels.
For families staying near St. Augustine, Anastasia State Park and St. Augustine Beach offer wide open shoreline and gorgeous light at golden hour. Vilano Beach is quieter and less crowded, which makes it a favorite for families with younger kids who need a little more space to move. Washington Oaks Gardens State Park is unlike anything else in the area — ancient oak canopy, dramatic coquina rock formations along the shoreline, and a setting that feels completely timeless. Downtown St. Augustine is a wonderful option for families who want something different from a beach session, with cobblestone streets, historic architecture, and a backdrop that tells a real story about where you were.
For families staying in Ponte Vedra Beach or the Jacksonville Beaches area, the dunes along Ponte Vedra Beach and the open stretches of Neptune and Atlantic Beach are beautiful at sunrise and sunset, and Guana Beach is one of the most unspoiled and naturally stunning locations in the entire area.
I know all of these locations well — the best angles, the best timing, and the spots that photograph beautifully without feeling overworked or overdone. When you book, I'll help you choose the one that fits your family and your vision for the session.
Family Photos are the Ultimate Souvenir
You are going to look back on this trip for years. The way your kids were at this age, the way your family fit together during this particular season of life, the fact that you were all there together in one of the most beautiful places in Florida. Those things are worth documenting properly.
I would love to be the person who does that for you.

I have children and I get this, but do not stress. My sessions are active and I use lots of prompts. I have lots of tricks up my sleeve to engage children. Just focus on staying in the moment and embracing the beauty of this stage in parenting. I promise you will love the images.

All packages listed are for immediate family members only. If you wish to include extended family members, please contact me for the pricing. Your session will require extra session time and editing time, which is why there is an additional fee.

Both sunrise and sunset can be beautiful times for family photos, but they offer very different experiences — especially here in Florida.
Sunset sessions have warm, golden light, but they also come with more unpredictability during certain times of year. In the spring and summer months, afternoon heat and pop-up thunderstorms are common, which can lead to last-minute weather changes. Beaches and popular locations also tend to be busier in the evenings, which can add extra distractions.
Sunrise sessions are often a favorite, particularly during Florida’s warmer seasons. The light is soft and even, temperatures are cooler, and the weather is typically more stable earlier in the day. Locations are quiet and peaceful, kids are usually well-rested, and the overall experience feels slower and more relaxed. Sunrise also tends to work well while on vacation because you have the rest of the day to explore.
If you’re hoping for a calm, unhurried session — or want to minimize weather concerns during storm season — sunrise is often the best option. I’m always happy to talk through timing and help you choose what will work best for your family.
-
Rain is always a possibility in North. astern Florida. I leave room in my calendar for the possibility of rain. If it rains, we will reschedule your St Augustine portrait session to the next available date. I do not reschedule due to cloudy weather. In fact, cloudy days provide perfect lighting for sessions.

You are not obligated to print through me, but I highly recommend using a reputable printer. I set the printing cost low to encourage clients to print through the professional lab. I can’t guarantee the quality of prints printed through an outside lab, as I am not calibrated nor affiliated with those labs. I also offer custom albums and print packages. Just message me for more info. Yes — I’ll guide you through this. After you book, I’ll learn more about your family, your style, and where you’re staying, and then suggest locations that fit both your vision and the best light for your session. Whether you’re drawn to the beach, the historic streets, or something more quiet and natural, I’ll help you choose a spot that feels right and works seamlessly with your time here.
-
I recommend reaching out once your travel dates are set. I keep my calendar intentionally limited so each session feels unhurried, and availability — especially for sunset — can fill quickly. Booking early gives you the most flexibility with timing and location.
-
You will receive an online gallery link with all your photos within 2 weeks after your session time. You can download your photos from the gallery. The gallery allows you to share with family and also provides you with access to professional printing services.
Kind Words
It was a pleasure to meet and work with Teresa. The photos and emotion she captured of me and my family are so beautiful and I will cherish them for years to come. I cannot wait to hang them in my home. Thank you so much, Teresa! :)
