Beach Snowman Holiday Mini Sessions in Ponte Vedra & Jacksonville
Christmas in Florida may look a little different, and honestly, that’s part of the fun.
Instead of snow boots, mittens and freezing temperatures, we have bare feet, sandy beaches and some of the prettiest fall sunsets of the year. My Beach Snowman Holiday Mini Sessions put a Florida spin on traditional Christmas photos and give kids something fun to actually do during their session.
These limited holiday mini sessions will take place at Guana Beach in St. Augustine and are perfect for families looking for Christmas card photos that feel festive without giving up the coastal Florida setting we love.
A Florida Twist on Holiday Photos
Years ago, I offered beach snowman sessions to my Long Island families, and they were always a favorite. Bringing them back now that I’m photographing families in Northeast Florida just makes sense.
The idea is simple: a snowman made from sand, a few festive details and your kids getting to decorate, play and interact with it.
That interaction is what makes these sessions so much fun to photograph. Your children aren't expected to sit perfectly beside a holiday setup and smile at the camera for 15 minutes. We'll get the traditional family portrait you need for your holiday card, but we'll also give them a chance to play, decorate the snowman and be themselves.
The result is a mix of classic family photos and playful images that actually feel like your family.
What to Expect During Your Mini Session
I’ll have our beach snowman ready and waiting when you arrive, along with festive accessories the kids can use to decorate him.
We’ll begin with a few family portraits while everyone is fresh, then let the kids have some fun with the snowman. Because these sessions take place close to sunset, we’ll also have that beautiful soft fall light that makes November such a great time for family photos at the beach in St. Augustine.
And yes, these sessions are short. That’s intentional.
Fifteen minutes is plenty of time when kids have something fun to engage with, and it keeps the experience moving before little ones lose interest.

A proofing gallery so you can choose your favorite images
8 fully edited digital images with print rights

What Should We Wear?
You definitely don't need traditional red and green for these sessions.
Cream, ivory, tan, soft blue, sage, muted red, burgundy and other warm neutrals all work beautifully against the sand and ocean. Subtle holiday touches can be really cute, but I recommend keeping outfits coordinated rather than overly themed.
Once you book, I'll send along additional wardrobe guidance to help you pull everything together.
Who Are These Sessions Best For?
Beach Snowman Minis are especially fun for families with younger children who might not be excited about the idea of simply standing and smiling for holiday photos.
Having an activity gives kids something to focus on and gives me plenty of opportunities to photograph their personalities along the way.
They're also a fun choice if you live in Northeast Florida and want your holiday photos to actually look like Florida. There is something pretty perfect about sending out a Christmas card with your kids building a snowman in the sand while everyone up north is bundling up for winter.
