First Holy Communion Photography in Ponte Vedra, Jacksonville & St. Augustine
First Holy Communion Photo Sessions
Your child’s First Holy Communion is such a meaningful milestone and is one that deserves to be remembered in a way that feels authentic and beautiful. Rather than the stiff, posed portraits of years past, my Communion sessions focus on natural, candid images that reflect your child’s personality and joy during this special time.
As a First Communion photographer in Ponte Vedra, Jacksonville, and St. Augustine, I create portraits that feel timeless yet personal. Whether we’re at your church or an outdoor location, my goal is to give you images that celebrate this rite of passage while showing the light and spirit of your child.
Why Book a Session Before the Ceremony?
On the actual day of your child’s First Communion, life is busy. You have to gett ready for the Mass, greet family, and prepare for the celebration. It’s not always the easiest time to step away for calm, meaningful portraits.
That’s why I recommend scheduling your Communion photo session 10–14 days before the ceremony. This allows us to photograph your child without distractions, and you’ll also have the images ready in time to display at the party or share with family.
Sessions typically take place on a weeknight about 1–2 hours before sunset for the best light. If your parish allows, we can hold the session at your own church, which often provides beautiful natural light and a meaningful backdrop. Some families also choose outdoor locations in Ponte Vedra, Nocatee, St. Augustine, or Jacksonville for a softer, nature-inspired feel.
What’s Included in a Communion Session
While the focus is always on your child, I also include:
Portraits of your child in their First Communion attire
Natural, candid moments that bring out their personality
Optional sibling and family portraits
A gallery of artistic images you can treasure for years to come
Every session is designed to feel relaxed and enjoyable, so your child looks comfortable and natural in their photos.
