A Twins in Home Newborn Session

The only thing that is better than a newborn baby is twins! This family was amazing to capture. The twin baby girls are absolutely precious, big brother is an adorable doting brother, the parents are the sweetest, and the icing on the cake is the adorable golden retriever. I am a dog lover and I own a golden retriever myself, so whenever I work with families with dogs, I try my best to incorporate the dog as best as I can. This is because I know how precious a pet is to the family.

I met this family back in the Fall for my holiday mini sessions when mom was just a few months pregnant and glowing. When mom contacted me and told me she delivered twin GIRLS I was elated for her and so excited to be able to capture this moment for the family.

Mom was looking for natural family newborn images, which is exactly my jam. The focus of the entire session is to capture images of you as a family connecting with the new addition to your family. It is also less stressful because the baby only needs to be asleep for any propped images should you request them.

Big brother is four years old and was a dream client. He eagerly participated in all of the sibling and family photos and clearly loves his baby sisters so much. When you have a toddler aged child, it often is best to schedule the newborn session in your home. This allows for the child to feel most comfortable and at ease and I find allows me to capture better connection. Newborn sessions tend to last two hours or more, so it is often easier for the whole family to be at home. For those families who do not want an in home session, I do have a beautiful lifestyle studio space available for sessions.

Often times the most complicated part of a session is the wardrobe. I now send a fully customized styling board to each client. The board contains links to active vendors and many times you will find you have similar items in your own closet. As always, I have a client coset stocked with dresses for moms. I keep the entire process simple for my clients. I know how little time new moms have and I take the guesswork out of the wardrobe for you. My client chose one of my favorite dresses from the closet and she looks stunning in it.

I truly love this collection of images. The earth toned palette is gorgeous and the natural laughter and connection warms my heart. Here are a few of my favorites from the day.
