Milestone Sessions for the Baby

I love photographing newborns. There is something so sweet and precious about documenting a family as they welcome a new baby into their home. It is such an important phase and it truly is one that is gone in the blink of an eye. However, I know that for some new parents scheduling a session right after the baby is born is not feasible. Parents may be nervous and anxious, moms may not feel their best, or toddler siblings may be adjusting to life with a new brother or sister. For this reason, I have quite a few clients who choose to schedule a family session around the 3-6 month old milestone.

Scheduling a session at this stage of a baby’s life is a great option. You truly start to see the little one’s personality shine through and babies are so darn cute at this age. Even better is that you can really catch some interaction between parent and child. It is also the perfect time to update your photos and document your expanding family.

These clients live in Brooklyn, but spend the Summer in Long Beach every year for the past seven years. They wanted to do a sunset session on the beach with their absolutely adorable five month old daughter. I know I say it all the time, but this baby is the most adorable child. In fact, people kept stopping my clients during the session to comment on how adorable she is. I couldn’t agree more.

This little angel was a dream during her very first photo session. She was perfectly chill and mellow and laughed at her mommy and daddy. There was so much love between them and it was so sweet to capture.
