Fall is in the Air | New Hyde Park Family Photographer

I photographed this sweet family two and a half years ago when their first daughter was born. When mom found out she was pregnant with her second daughter, she contacted me to schedule another in home lifestyle newborn session. Unfortunately, due to COVID, we had to postpone her session. Mom opted to do a Fall family session instead. This was a perfect time to schedule the photos because the baby is now five months old and filled with personality.

Although I love photographing families at the beach, I have to say, I love this time of year equally. The foliage is so gorgeous and I love the hues of the trees, shrubbery and flowers. It all adds such dimension to the images. We scheduled this session at a favorite park location of mine about 90 minutes before sunset. This is always my favorite time of day tp photograph because it is when the sun is at its softest. What is nice about this particular location is that because of the abundance of trees, I can also shoot throughout the day.

I had an absolute blast with this family. Big sister is the sweetest and most easy going toddler I have ever met. Dad is so sweet and fun; he had me and the kids cracking up throughout the entire session. My face actually hurt by the end of the time we spent together. Mom and the baby are equally as sweet. It was just an absolute pleasure to photograph them,

As always, I started this session with the formal and posed portraits. Once this is done, moved on to the more playful and emotive captures. As you will see from his gallery, there was lots of movement, laughter , and cuddling going on, which is exactly what I want to capture during a family session. Because I take a playful approach, most of the time the kids don’t even realize they are having their photos taken. This is what allows me to capture natural expressions.

My Fall season is underway and I still have one or two spots open in November for a family session. These sessions are private and prop free and perfect for those who don’t want to participate in mini sessions this year due to current circumstances. If you are interested in a session, contact me. In the meantime, here are a few of my favorites.
