On the day of a special event, it can be difficult to get yourself and your family ready. Capturing polished portraits of your special day is important and it can be helpful to schedule your photo session ahead of time. Doing so alleviates some of the stress associated with hosting an event, eliminates the need to rush around on that day and it is nice to know that on the day of the party you can relax because you have already captured images of your family together. This is especially true when photographing babies. They can easily become overstimulated on the day of a party, which would mean that the baby could be cranky for those family photos you want captured.

I always schedule my Communion portrait sessions ahead of time, but did you know that yo can also schedule baptism photos prior to the big day? This recent client had that idea in mind when she contacted me to have her family photos taken to commemorate her son’s baptism. She wanted to capture those photos ahead of time and she also wanted to include her parents in the session. My client was wise to make this decision and she came to the right place. We scheduled the session at her church and did so at a time that was optimal for lighting and the baby’s disposition. Best of all, we had the whole church to ourselves and were able to capture photos using different areas of the location.

This little boy was a delight to photograph. He was dressed impeccably in his baptism suit from Bambino Elegante, a local store in Rockville Centre. Mom dressed the whole family in equally gorgeous attire. We started the session with some extended family portraits and then moved on to grandparents photos, parent photos, and, of course, photos of the special boy himself.
