A Surprise Proposal on the Beach | Long Beach Sunset Engagement

I am excited to share this recent proposal session featuring a truly sweet couple. They met at The Inn in Long Beach and my client wanted to propose to her in town. He wanted to shoot on the beach at sunset, but needed some help choosing the right time, spot and other details, with which I happily assisted him.

The most important part of a secret proposal is having a solid plan in place, which is why I always meet with my clients prior to any proposal session. During this meeting, we choose a specific location, go over backup plans and discuss other pertinent details that set your day up for success.

Meeting prior to the session is not enough to ensure a successful proposal, which is why I always arrive 30-60 minutes prior to your start time. During this time, I will assess the scene, make any changes that need be, and handle any situation that may foil our plan. I want you to be fully at ease and ready to experience the moment when you finally pop the question.

This session was a huge success, My client’s girlfriend was shocked when he asked her to marry him and she was so filled with joy and excitement that it was contagious. After the proposal, we did a mini engagement session, which is so important. I center this portion of the session with a lot of fun and interactive prompts that help me to get natural, relaxed and organic images, rather than stiff rigid poses. Not only do these photos truly capture your joy as a newly engaged couple, but the session becomes a true and memorable experience for you as a couple. Most couples tell me that they had a blast during this segment of the session, which is exactly what I want to hear.

When we were done with the beach sunset engagement photos, we decided to head over to The Inn, where it all began. I quickly snapped a few images of them outside of the bar and then they went in to have a quick celebratory drink before heading back to celebrate with family and friends at a surprise party my client had orchestrated. I can’t think of a more romantic and heartfelt gesture to start a life together.

Here are a few of my favorites from this sweet couple’s session. Congrats again to both of them.
