September Nights on the Beach

Family Session

September is flying by and the official start of Fall is almost here. This month is one of my busiest months for beach family sessions. It is the best month to schedule that beach sunset photo session for a multitude of reasons. The weather is absolutely gorgeous, the crowds are gone and the sunsets are spectacular.

I photographed this family five years ago for an extended family session on the beach. Their children were just babies at the time and it was such a pleasure to see them again and see how much they have grown and matured since that time. The four of them are so sweet and the kids were a delight to photograph. They have such wonderful personalities and were so much fun to work with.

It was an absolutely gorgeous Saturday evening. The weather was quite warm, but it was so comfortable on the beach. The sun was slightly shrouded by clouds, but the sunset was breathtaking. Oddly enough for an 85 degree Saturday night, there was no one to be found on the beach.

Although Mom wanted the primary focus of this session to be on the kids, we also spent some time doing some updated family portraits. It is so important to get into photos with your children. The children are 5 and 7 years old, which is such a fun stage. They still love to cuddle, play and have fun and I get to capture and freeze this moment in time for you. These are the moments that you will look back at fondly once your little ones are int he teen phase.

Mom dressed the family in a palette of white and blue, which is a classic color combo that is timeless and perfect for any photo session. It is also a great color combo to choose if you plan on using your photos for holiday cards. Holiday card photos do not have to be heavily propped or Christmas themed, but if you are looking for that type of session, I also host holiday minis annually.
