Vintage Train Session | Fall Family Photography

I originally met this family when mom was pregnant with her second child. She scheduled a maternity session with me in my studio and then we were scheduled for newborn photos in the Spring. Unfortunately, we had to postpone her newborn session because of COVID.

Now that the baby is near six months old, Mom decided that she wanted to schedule a Fall family session. She chose one of my favorite locations for her session, which is at a vintage train museum. Although I use this location mostly for holiday photos, it is also perfect for family photos. The train allows for adorable and classic images of the children and the lush foliage is perfect for family photos. I love when families are open to unique locations. Parks, beaches and gardens are all awesome locations at which to schedule a family session, but there are many other options from which you can choose as well. I was so happy mom chose this particular spot.

Big brother, with his easy going personality, big smile and dimples, is beyond adorable. He was all smiles for this session and was an absolute pleasure to photograph. I love that he is laughing in most of the captures and I think his true personality really shines through. I started the session with some photos by the train. Although I am typically a minimalist when it comes to props, this session lends itself to incorporating them. I used some vintage luggage and a faux gas lantern for this portion of the session and I just love the look that it creates.

After I photographed the children and the family by the train and got those posed images out of the way, we moved on to the foliage at which I was able to capture some connected images of the family. This is when we had time to have some fun, play games and, ultimately, capture some really beautiful photos. I love the playful images of dad playing with his kids . I also made sure to get plenty of images of mom snuggled up with her little ones. Mom is absolutely stunning and glowing in those pictures with her children. Her love for them really shows.

I am still booking family sessions for the 2020 Fall season. I currently have tow time spots left in November.. If you are interested, contact me. In the meantime, here are a few favorites from their session.
