Southhampton Beach Nights

I always love traveling to new locations to photograph clients, especially when it is a location as gorgeous as this particular beach in Southhampton, NY. It is so fun to meet new clients and photograph them at locations that hold meaning for them. My recent clients are from Connecticut, but they spend their Summers in the Hamptons with their family. While they were here visiting, they opted to have photos taken at the beach where they spend so much time as a family.

One of the best aspects about photographing on the beach is that not two sessions are ever exactly alike. Because beach weather can be erratic, it is always a mystery as to what kind of sky we will have. This evening did not disappoint. In fact, I wanted to pinch myself on the evening of this session to make sure that I wasn’t dreaming. The August sunset sky was EPIC! The light was literally glowing pink for the last thirty minutes of the session. I truly have never seen anything like it before. It was simply magical.

This family is beyond sweet and their two boys are absolutely adorable. The older one is two and the baby is five months old. These two were fantastic during the session and we shot for over an hour, which is a lot for children this age. I absolutely love the blend of the posed images and the images that capture the family’s relationship with one another. Working with toddlers involves lots of interaction, playing games and taking breaks from photos to allow them time to explore and have some fun. Believe it or not, the time goes by quickly!
