Let me Help you Simplify the Newborn Session

When you have your first child, it can be tough to not only choose a newborn photographer in your area, but also to choose the type of session that works best for your family. There are so many options available and finding what is best for you can seem overwhelming. Scheduling your newborn session should not be stressful. Let’s face it…you have tons of other things to think about when expecting your first baby. I am here to take all the guess work out of your first photo session with your little baby.

I Use Minimal Props

Contrary to what many people thing, a newborn session does not require the use of props. In fact, I prefer to photograph your baby with the least amount of props possible. Propped photos do not show your love for your baby. My goal is to capture images of your bond. Although there is much beauty in propped images, I would much rather spend my time with you capturing a wide array of images that show your love for your baby and your deepening connection as a couple. Of course, if you request props, I am happy to bring a few along from which you can choose. The props I use allow for the most natural posing of your baby.

I Can Help You Style Your Family

I have a client closet with an array of women’s dresses in a variety of styles. These all photograph beautifully and have been selected in styles that are flattering and in colors that work well in most homes. I encourage my clients to try them on ahead of time or I can arrive early to help you choose from them on the day of the session. I bring along all of the swaddles and outfits for your baby as well. I can also suggest outfits for the rest of the family. I truly can be as hands on or off with the styling as your prefer. Ultimately, it is whatever makes the styling process easiest for you.

I Do Not Rush Through the Session

I get it. I am a mom and I have been through the newborn stage. I have also worked with countless families over the past decade. So, nothing surprises me and I know exactly what to expect. Therefore, I never rush through your session. We can take as many breaks as your baby or you need. If the baby is fussy, don’t stress. I am not in a hurry and I know that some babies take a little extra love and time to relax. I don’t ever want my clients to feel pressed for time.

I Don’t Need the Baby to Be Asleep for the Photos

Unless you request propped images, your baby can be wide awake throughout the session. In fact, I prefer this. When your baby is awake and alert, it allows for more connected newborn photos. I love to see wide eyed babies in images. If you want some sleeping images of your little one, don’t worry. Odds are that he will fall asleep while being held for all oof the family photos. At that time, we can capture sleeping images of the baby. However, if you request propped images, we will need to take some time to coax baby asleep. I follow the baby’s lead through out the session and do not follow a rigid checklist of poses, I capture the images as the opportunities present themself.

I Schedule the Session in Your Own Home

No need to rush out of the house with your little one in tow. I can come to you and capture beautiful and connected photos of you with your baby. Being in your own home allows you to get ready in ease, remain comfortable throughout the session and takes breaks as needed. For those families who prefer a different look than their own home, I also have a beautiful lifestyle studio that I can use for newborn sessions. Not sure which session you prefer? You can always message me pics of your home and I can help you decide.
