A Family Session with a Puppy | Westhampton Beach Photographer
As a dog owner and lover, I am always happy when families want to include their dog in a session. When my client told me that he recently adopted a golden retriever, I was ecstatic. I love all dogs, but goldens are my absolute favorite. I knew that this session was going to be a super fun one to photograph.
Scheduling a session with your dog is perfectly fine. Sometimes I suggest that you bring along an extra set of hands to watch your pet during the session, but for some, this is not a necessity. It all depends on your puppy’s personality. We also have to choose a location that is dog friendly and there are plenty of locations that allow dogs.
This family was so fun to work with. When my client booked me, he said he wanted relaxed and natural images of his family, which is exactly my style of photography. Upon meeting them, I realized that they were probably the most fun and relaxed group of people with whom I have had the privilege of working. They were so loving with one another and laughed so much throughout the session. It was easy to get connected images of them because that truly is who they are.
Because my client was bringing a dog to the session, we opted for Rogers Beach in Westhampton. The evening of this session was simply spectacular. The sunset was breathtaking lighting up the sky in warm hues of pink and orange. Although it was a very hot August day, the weather at sunset was pleasant and comfortable.
The start of the session was the puppy, who is not only adorable, but posed perfectly for the family photos. The girls were also a delight and were so sweet with one another and with their parents. I have so many soft and affectionate images of the sisters together and with their parents.
It is always a pleasure to meet new clients and to work in new places. Here are some of my favorites from the evening.
