A Morning Maternity Session with the Family | Woodmere Family Photographer

I absolutely adore photographing pregnant women. I think they look stunning and it is such an important milestone to document. This is especially true when your family is expanding. It is nice to capture those exciting moments that lead up to welcoming a new baby into the family.

This recent maternity session was with a family of four, who will soon be a family of five. My client wanted a photo session that captured her time with her two little ones before meeting baby number three. I was thrilled to be able to capture this special moment for her. Although I mostly schedule sessions at sunset, some clients with young children prefer a morning session, as that time of day works better for their little ones. Your family photos are not about capturing a sunset, but rather about capturing all of you together and we want the children to be happy and content. I am always happy to schedule sessions in the morning, but I only do so at specific locations that provide the right light.

Mom did a fantastic job dressing her family in beautiful and rich Fall tones. She wasn’t quite sure about which outfits to choose, so I suggested we meet early at the location, so I could help her finalize the wardrobe. I want the wardrobe styling to be as stress free as possible for my clients, so I am always happy to help in any way that I can. I just love the palette of this particular wardrobe.

I was giddy to finally be back in a green and lush location after weeks of photographing families at the beach. I love the ocean and it will always be one of my favorite locations, but it is nice to mix things up from time to time and I just love the gorgeous look of lush greens in photos.

My client wanted the emphasis of this session to be on the family unit and not solo portraits. We did a few solo maternity photos, but everything else really was centered on them as a unit. As always, I try to blend in some posed portraits, but I really like to concentrate on interaction, which we had plenty of during this session.

I had such a great time with this gorgeous family. Here are a few of my favorites from their session.
